Review: Uncollared by Nona Raines

Submissive Mia Manetti is devastated when her first Master uncollars her just as she was hoping for a permanent relationship with him. Trying to move on, she agrees to sub for a powerful and sexy new Dom.

Chess Ryan has wanted Mia from the first moment he saw her at Club Restraint, but it was always "hands off" because she belonged to his friend Philip. Now, thanks to that friend's maneuvers, Mia is finally his. But only for a little while.

Mia finds it increasingly difficult to keep her feelings in check as she experiences erotic delights with Master Chess, sensual and sexual fantasies that she's never known before. Is she setting herself up for another heart ache?

Guilt, secrets and misplaced pride all keep Chess and Mia from being completely honest with each other. As they connect sexually and emotionally, they realize their relationship has grown too serious to be called "play". How far are they willing to go as Master and slave?

My Review:

I found this book really interesting.  You seldom read a book where a submissive is rejected or the master moves on.  The premise was interesting and even though you expect a lot of pain, the book is filled with surprising twists.  And then of course the sexy Master Chess catches her eye.  He is the elusive playboy in their world.  He never keeps a sub very long and never lacks for female company.  But what Mia doesn't know is that Master Chess has wanted her for a very long time.  Seeing her uncollared was the one chance he wouldn't pass up, even if that meant being creative in his means of pursuing her.  He definitely had that in spades.

But the past has a way of catching up with you and secrets don't stay that way for long.  Its amazing at just how much can come to light during intense moments.  But when all the cards are down, is there hope for a future?

This was a yummy read and dips into some BDSM aspects quite nicely, along with some hot sex scenes that were very tasteful.  I enjoyed it immensely and will be looking for other books.
